Friends???

The day I entered my degree college, I knew it was never going to be the same again. School life was already on the list of my past, already the thing I missed the most!   I would boast to everyone, how my school was the best and how I had the best of friends and the best of time! Well, I wasn’t the only one with the feeling. Everyone had some best teachers, some funny teachers and some totally weird ones to laugh at. Nobody was without a best friend and no one was without a funny tale to tell. After all, you spend 10 years of your life at a place where you grow up with people your age, you are bound to make great friends and long lasting impressions on your personalities. But little did I know, that I had now entered the arena of college life which had even more to offer than I could have imagined in my school. The freedom of thoughts, the zeal and passion of youth and tremendous scope of dreams makes this time the best time of your life. The stage is all set for you, but

Twinkle twinkle little star!

“Oh F***!”,   I exclaimed as I saw Sandra Bullock drift apart from her space station into an ever expanding, everlasting, unbounded universe! I was obviously watching ‘Gravity 3D’. What do you do if you are ever stuck in such a situation? Not a simplest clue. Even with the latest cutting edge technology that Man has ever garnered in all these years or with the ability to travel to Moon, Mars or any planet you name, we are still completely helpless if we are ever lost in space. Left to the mercy of asteroids, space debris, light rays, gravity and electromagnetic radiations! Left on the mercy of something, we have no idea about. And then not to forget, there is this newcomer called ‘Dark Matter’ which will also be present to greet us without revealing any knowledge about it. When we define natural world, should this only limit of our planet or even beyond it? The way life is supported and encouraged on our planet by the so called ‘Nature’, why is it not supported in space or

If you are happy and you know it ...clap your hands!

Horray….. its 5.30 in the evening and its Friday! Happiness in the air, party on my mind and pizzalicious taste on my mouth! What an uplifting feeling. I can’t believe I am able to achieve this unbounded, buoyant happiness every single Friday! I don’t need any books or speeches or courses to preach me about mantras of happy life. It just has to be a Friday evening. How cool is that? But the only question is why does it always have to be this time of the week? Is it because I don’t have to do office work for the next two days? Is it because I get to meet my friends? Is it because I think I deserve a break after slogging for the 5 days? Is it because I think I earn good money and here’s my opportunity on spending it on food, shopping or movies? Is it because I know the whole world has a holiday for next two days and so it is almost a festive atmosphere in the air? I really don’t know, but it feels like my happiness is so much decided by the external factors of my world. What

Om Shanti Shanti!

It’s almost a fashion now to join a Yoga class, what with all the Yoga trousers, Yoga tops, yoga mats and to top it all - CDS of special divine music to sooth your ears. Could it get any better? Well, I am no exception to this and I just love going to a Yoga class. Partly for the above reasons and partly to keep my body fit and flexible without running on the treadmill endlessly. So, when they announced in the office that there will be new Yoga classes starting every week for office employees, I jumped on the opportunity and enrolled immediately. Now the only task remaining was to convince some other people to join me, so I won’t feel that I am the only one being targeted for a laugh and then do the most interesting task – shop some Yoga clothes and yoga mat. If you are an Indian then it is almost impossible that you have never learnt Yoga. By some or the other means we are always targeted by Yoga teachers at school, or some Yogic in summer camp activities   or in

It's time to learn from my baby!

Its two’o clock in the midnight and I am sitting on my bed wide awake, milk bottle in one hand and a nappy in other. Looking at my baby sleeping peacefully on my lap, his breathing even and deep, I am now assured he is in his deep sleep. I seem to have achieved a momentary break in my relentless night schedule. Limited sleep with unexpected alarms has now propelled me into a highly alert state of mind. You might even say that I am ‘Awakened’. And then a thought crosses my mind. What is really motherhood? Is it about changing nappies on time? Or about feeding the baby enough or making him sleep with your impromptu lullabies? I am sure it is something to do with teaching him the good manners or making him study the best possible courses to ascertain his future.   Or May be not. It has got to be all that plus a lot more. After all, it is the most highly regarded job in the world!   Motherhood….the word   suggests an array of millions of passionate feelings and the force that come
