Far Away!

When Richard , my colleague, asked me “ So what is it exactly that you miss about your country ?”,my mind was suddenly filled with images and events of relatives , friends, college, school, food, movies and an endless list got created in my mind. We were sitting at our desks on the computer in our posh office in London and chatting about ‘how so many Indians come to UK in search of better life’. I, as always, was explaining everyone about the differences in India and UK. I always wondered what these British people must be thinking about we foreigners, invading their country, creating competition for jobs , building temples around, changing their taste buds to ‘curries’ and making their lifestyle more diverse , fast and colourful. The’ Indianism’, as I have named it, is a fast growing culture spreading throughout the globe. Indians are opportunists and they have reached all the places in the world where there is opportunity to grow, learn, earn and prosper. They have strong foundati

Mission Impossible!

That whole day I was in the kitchen. Didn’t know it would take me so long for such a simple task. Some things which you see from your childhood, you start assuming they are very simple and easy to do. It’s like when you see your elder brother riding a bicycle or your dad fixing the bulb or your mom cooking. These are all simple day to day activities which anyone should be able to accomplish. It’s the world as it was then and we can still see it. It’s not exciting just because its old but because it still is so beautiful! It’s the history of human behaviour, survival, religion, art, science, geography and many more aspects. The land was giving me a very familiar feeling. It was busy streets with crazy traffic, cars parked haphazardly along the road and two wheelers making their way through it. Cities full of residential buildings, offices and shops .Then there were long stretches of green fields and dense forests. It was the brightest sun and hottest afternoons but the pleasant breeze of evenings was making everything worth. From my very first day visit to island of Capri, I knew I was about to see something different here. The sight of a tall mountain bathing in the blue-green water was m esmerizing. The top of the mounta
